Sometimes we are so busy trying to make a living that we forget how to live. I know so many people that have become stupid obsessed with work, they care more about making money than they do anything else. They miss out on valuable family and friend time. Although its healthy to be driven and ambitious it’s also healthy to be social. There is a very fine between become obsessive and dedicated.
Meet Mohamed El-Erian, he was CEO of the trillion-dollar investment company called PIMCO. He decided to leave this prestigious position after his 10-year old daughter made him realize what he was missing out on.
He missed her:
- First day of school
- Halloween parade
- First soccer game
- Parent-teacher meetings
- And many recitals.
All because of work commitments.
After quitting his job, he now enjoys making breakfast for his daughter and taking her to school.
