Having a friend or loved one going through a depression, medical illness or family tragedy can be heart breaking to them and for you to see them suffer through it. Everything to them seems hopeless. Know the difference between empathy and sympathy. Empathy you know how they feel, you’ve been through it too so you feel with them. Sympathy you feel for them not really knowing how they feel for you’ve not experienced it. Everyone deals with issues different but one thing is certain…we all need kind words and someone to help us get through these trying times.
